Visionary leaders in the early 80's launched Florida on the path of responsible economic growth when they sought and won a moratorium against offshore drilling in the waters off our coast. For over 20 years Florida’s businesses and families have prospered from that sound leadership.
We believe America once again needs visionary leaders to stand up for our state’s economic prosperity, environmental treasures, and way of life.
"Protect Florida's Beaches" is a loose coalition of conservation groups, coastal businesses, local governments, and concerned citizens speaking out against this ill-conceived proposal. Florida's $562 billion annual coastal economy and ecology are too valuable to gamble on uncertain oil revenues promised by Big Oil.
